1970s Frances Henaghan floral velvet pantsuit featuring a tailored jacket and matching high-waisted trousers. The velvet has a deep plum-burgundy background with an all-over floral pattern in varying shades of pink and mauve. Its soft pile catches the light and gives the pattern subtle tonal variation.
The jacket has wide 70s notched lapels, long sleeves and gentle shaping through the waist. It fastens through the front with three brown buttons and has non functional flap pockets at the hips. Rounded lower edges soften the tailored shape, the length sits neatly over the waistband of the trousers. The jacket is fully lined.
The coordinating trousers sit high on the waist and fasten at the front with a zip and button. They fit neatly through the waist and hips before falling into wide, lightly flared legs.
Labelled Frances Henaghan, the jacket also carries an additional John Baldwin label. Both pieces remain together as the original matching set.
