A striking 1980s leather dress by Melbourne label WAI is made from soft black leather and cut in a fitted, knee-length pencil silhouette. The design has a sculptural off-the-shoulder neckline with pointed shaping through the front and wide leather bands that sit across the upper arms.
The fitted bodice is constructed with shaped vertical panels through the bust and waist. These seams give the dress structure while allowing the leather to follow the body closely. Diagonal panel lines continue across the waist and hips.
The 1980s leather dress fastens at the back through the bodice and skirt. The interior is fully lined in black. The off-the-shoulder construction creates a strong, structured shape while exposing the collarbones and shoulders.
