1940s black satin dress with a beautifully simple silhouette and striking oversized patch pockets. The batwing bodice features a small pointed collar opening into a V neckline, with four black satin covered buttons fastening through the front.
Long sleeves are cut close through the lower arm and finish with concealed zip openings at the cuffs. This is a lovely period detail and allows the sleeves to retain their narrow shape while still being easy to put on.
The most distinctive feature is the pair of large patch pockets positioned across the front hip. They are made from a contrasting textured black satin with a subtle ribbed effect.
The black rayon satin has a beautiful fluid drape. The back is kept clean and fitted through the waist and hip, with a side zipper closure.
